Chapter 3 Bear Dog

In the beginning, Lewis saw some Indians, they smelled like animal skins and dry blood. The Indians were friendly so he approached them and spoke to them. The Indians gathered around Seaman and started saying "it's a bear" then Lewis told him "it's a dog" so they argued about what Seaman was. Finally, they came to a conclusion; one of the Indians said "bear-dog." Lewis agreed with that. One Indian went to his horse and pulled out three beaver skins. "For bear-dog" he said. Lewis understood what they wanted; they wanted to trade 3 beaver skins for Seaman. Lewis stood up and said "no trade, bear-dog special".
I really liked this chapter because it tells about how much Lewis loves Seaman; so much he wouldn't trade anything for Seaman.
