Honey Bees

Did you know that all the worker bees are female? Hi, I'm Zoe, and I want to tell you all about bees. First, I will tell you about the life cycle. First, the Queen must lay an egg. After all, eggs cannot lay themself! Next, the larvae (LAR-vay) hatch, and are fed beebread and royal jelly (though the Queen is fed only royal jelly). Beebread is made out of pollen and nectar. Royal jelly is white, milky stuff. Finally, the adult bee emerges from the cell. Did you know that the workers fan the honey to make it? The drone is the only boy in the hive. If they do not fall in love with the queen, they get their wings clipped off and they get thrown out of the hive. Uh-oh! :-( Well, I'm VERY buzzzzz-y, so that's all I have to say!
