Yesterday was the last fire drill this year. We were about to do writing but suddenly the fire alarm went off. We went outside, and when we got under the covered area we heard distant sirens. A couple minutes later, a fire truck parked by the school. Mr. Poage had said they had a surprise for us, and when the fire drill was over, a fire man got out of the truck and came over by the covered area. He had a hose and started spraying water straight in the air. Then the fire truck started spraying water all over the playground. Everybody ran under were the most water was falling. Every few minutes the guy on top of the fire truck jerked the hose to a different spot. When that happened, everybody would run as fast as they could toward where the water was. Eventually they turned off the water, and I was soaked. I thought it was a lot of fun.
It was so cool when they shot the water up in mid air! It was also fun when we ran back and fourth to get where the water was falling. I didin't get soked more of misted. Where you dry by the time you got home? I was, and that was too bad because I got sooo hot!
ReplyDeleteStrangly enough about 15 to 20 minutes later my hair was pretty dry.
ReplyDeleteI loved having that last firedrill! Anyway, nice work Reed.
ReplyDeleteThat was the BEST fire drill ever! And your writing was excellent, Reed! I liked the words you used in your writing. I only got sprayed a bit and I wish I had got sprayed more:( It looked like FIREWORKS in the sky! Too bad they didn't come on that really hot week when it was like in the high 80's and low 90's. I like the fire truck picture :)
