Free Time

I enjoy free time. Free time is where you get to go on the computer, or read a book at your desk, or in our class library. You can have free time when your work is done, or when you choose to stay in at recess. On the computer we can do Power Point, we can work on stories that we did on our writing, we can do Kerpoof or Magic Pen. We have lots of books in our class library. You’re allowed to checkout books from our class library too. I enjoy free time and my favorite time to choose is at recess. I like to do Kerpoof. You should download the game and try it someday!

Writing

In our classroom we do writing almostm everyday. We usually write about stuff we like to do. Here are some things I wrote about: Oregon, Birthday, Sports, and Fishing.Sometimes we have to do Poems.
This is the Writing Process: 1, Prewriting 2, Drafting 3, Revising 4, Proofreading 5, Publishing.
One time, 2nd graders had to write about an Unusual Pet, and 3rd graders had to write about Their Favorite Summer Activities. I hope you write about something you like to do, and learn something new about writing. I enjoyed writng in our class.

Oral Presentations

Hi my name is Trenton and I am going to tell you about oral presentations. Well, first I am going to tell you what oral presentations are… an oral presentation is when you get in front of the whole class and say a speech about a certain topic. You are working on speaking loud, looking at your audience and making it appealing. You can use props. It is fun to do oral presentations because there are awesome things to tell about and it is enjoyable. I learned to speak loudly in front of an audience, and tried to make it fun for them. I hope you like oral presentations like I did.

My Teacher

Hi my name is Alexis and I am blogging about my teacher, Ms. Turchin. She is awesome! She is really cool, fantastic, amazing, and fun! She just makes my day. But the bad thing is that school is out in 5 days! So, I will not be able to see her over the summer. We have a lot of fun together. But one thing I love about coming to school is I get to see her. So you should be in Ms. Turchin’s class.
Here are some of the subject’s in our class: math, writing, problem of the day, D. O .L, science, reading, PowerPoint’s too. So if you think you want to be in Ms. Turchins class be in the PAT program. Oh, and Ms. Turchin is really nice too.

Class Play

Hi my name is Logan and I am doing my blog on the CLASS MUSICAL called "The Emperors New Clothes". (I was the emperor.)
It was really, really fun, even though I had to walk on stage with only long john underwear on! The story was about Guido and Luigi, they tricked me, and they made me an invisible suit of clothes (really there wasn’t any clothes at all!!!!) In the end I went on a parade with long john underwear and everyone finally noticed I HAD NOTHING ON AT ALL. I learned a lesson about being greedy.I gave most of my clothes to the needy, and kept a few outfits for myself. I really enjoyed being the emperor and getting to be in our class play.

State Powerpoints

Hello my name is Eva and I’m bogging about state power points. This year we studied U.S.A. Everyone picked a state and did a power point presentation on their state. We had to Google the information. If you want, you can make a commercial on photo story or on your power point. I learned Alabama’s symbols and some places to visit in New York and hope you learn something to, in the future about the 50 United States.

P.O.D.

Hi I’m Jake and one of my favorite things is P.O.D. In our class we do P.O.D. in our group. P.O.D. stands for Problem Of the Day. In my group there is John, Callum, Aiden, and me. We have either groups of three or four. Working in my group is fun and sometimes really challenging. I think P.O.D. is really fun and I know I will miss it next year in Ms. Isler’s class.

Class Picnic

Hi I’m Katie and I’m doing a blog about our class picnic. We play games and eat lunch at McDonald Park. Some of the games we play are the egg drop, water balloon silent ball, and pinata. The egg drop is where you get a partner and throw an egg back and forth. Silent ball is where you throw the ball to someone and they try to catch it, only we played it with water balloons. We also did a pinata. It is so much fun

Dedimals and Fractions

Doing fractions and decimals was one of my favorite things we did in math. It was a little tricky, but it was fun. We learned fractions first then we started doing decimals. When we first did fractions, we learned simple fractions.
Then, we moved on to adding and subtracting fractions. Then on to decimals! We actually started off doing turning things into decimals. Then we started adding and subtracting decimals. I am glad I am going here next year.

COMPUTERS,

Hi my name is Kelsey and I am going to tell you about some things we do on our computers. First, we get assigned to a computer with a buddy. We have 12 computers. With your buddy you find out who is taller and who is shorter. If you are taller you are the gold star person if you are shorter you are the silver star person. At recess we can play on Power Point or play games online like Kerpoof and Magic pen. After lunch recess, if it is gold star day the person who is gold star gets to go on the computer for 20 minute, then you switch and the silver star person gets to go on for 20 minutes. During the 20 minutes you work on your state report or ATRT (a typing game). We have fun with computers in our class everyday.

Reading

Hi, I’m Aiden and I am blogging about reading. In our classroom, we read a
average of 20 minutes after second recess. We even have to put down in our planner
to read 20-30 minutes. Why I like reading is because it takes me into a world never
discovered. I hope that no one ever stops reading.

Mad Minute

At about 10:30 every day we do Mad Minute. It’s where you have 1 minute to do 30 problems. Every time you beat a Level (which is about 15 pages) you go on to the next. Here are some of the Levels: addition, multiplication, division, and reducing fractions and I don’t think anyone gets any farther then that. In the middle of the year right after winter break if you’re still on addition you get to go onto multiplication. Then after the timer goes of we bring home a Mad Minute page to practice at home with. I think this is FUN!

MATH

One of my favorite subjects in class is math.
The math in our class is fun! We get to do a lot of math in our day!

148÷5=29 R. 3

MATH IN MS. T’S CLASS IS FUN! The math is not always easy, sometimes it’s really hard. If the math was always easy it wouldn’t be fun! My favorite thing I learned was how to regroup.

Auctions

My name is Hayden. One of my most favorite things in the class is auctions.
During the school year, we earn money for doing what we are told, doing something to help, and we earn it in our planner. We call these bonuses. For doing something we aren't supposed to, we lose money. We call these fines. Usually, every Wednesday, we have an auction. With the money that we have in our ledgers, we buy some things. At the end of the year, we have our end of the year auction, people donate a LOT of things for it. Here are some things we have for this year. An Icee maker, a milkshake maker, a Webkinz, LOTS of stuffed animals, a water gun, and much, much, more. Auctions are really fun!

Playing Bingo

In out class we have been playing BINGO; we played two different types of bingo: Multiplication bingo, and Amazing American Bingo. In multiplication bingo you fill your card with answers to multiplication problems. Players call out a fact and if you have the answer to that fact on your paper you put a bingo chip on. When we play Amazing American bingo you have a list of people who made a difference in our country. Each student has a person who they did an oral report on, that person, say it was me, will call out something like this: "I was a Native American princess who was married to John Rolfe, had a son named Thomas, and help make peace...." I would say for Pocahontas. Everyone has the same list of people and wherever you put that person on you bingo card you put a chip on that square. There were fifty Amazing Americans in the book set so we did this twice, each time the same way. When we play bingo sometimes we do four corners, postage stamp, and other different ways to play bingo. Your not aways lucky either. When we used to play multiplication bingo, my friend, Kelsey was always lucky. In Amazing American bingo it's pretty mixed up. I won twice. Once in Multiplication bingo, I got a ring from the Treasure Chest, and once Amazing American bingo, I got pink toy fish that I named Bingo for obvious reasons. When you get a bingo, you shout "BINGO!" you call out the names or numbers under you counters making a BINGO. If you are right, you go to the Treasure Chest (courtesy of Trenton) It's filled with all sorts of things! Playing BINGO in this class has been fun.

Friendship

At the beginning of the year, I didn't know many people. Then we got computer buddies. My computer buddy is Bryn. I got to know Bryn and the other people who where on the computer next to me, so I got to know Abigail (or Abby) and Kelsey. Now we are all good friends. I also made friends with third graders. Having a third grade friend is helpful because they help you with hard things. Plus, if you don't have someone to play with at recess, the second grade girls have third grade buddies, and my buddy is Lynzee.

The P.A.T Family Picnic

Every year we have a P.A.T Family Picnic at the end of the school year. I remember the picnic for the year of 2008. Unfortunatly it was in the rainiest part of the year so we had to have it inside. Me and Jaime flew a paper airplane that said, "Vote Jaime!" It gave Reed the idea to start the Carnation Elementary Airforce. After I had been walking around awhile, and doing almost absolutly nothing, Jaime ran up to me and said, "Gracie, my poster for the school election is falling down!" I did not want it to have it fall down completely so I hurried down the hall to get Jaime some tape. I slid through the door to the hallway, and turned around to jiggle the handle to make sure that it was not locked. But, due to my bad luck the door was locked. I ran down the hallway and jiggled the other handle of the other door. It was locked to. I started to get scared. What if the other door was not locked? Slowly, I put my hand on the handle, and thank goodness it was not locked. I had to run through the passageway behind the school and all the way to the door on the other side of the school. I came in to the multi-purpose room huffing and puffing. Luckily, Jaime got someone else to get the tape. I noticed that more and more people were arriving in the multi-purpose room. The Carnation Elementary Air force was going outside because of two reasons. Number one, the sun was finally shining, and number two, there was clean-up going on in the multi-purpose room. I took my shoes off and ran outside. It was true! It was true! The sun was finally shining! But, the field was soaking wet! Oh well, I liked it that way. Only Lynzee was out there at the time. Pretty soon Kelsey, Jaime, and Katie came outside. By the time that happened I could barely feel my feet. As my dad came I thought I did not want to leave, but it had been a very long day.
