Pioneers

Today we went to the library to hear pioneers talk about how they used to live. Their names were Ed & Ester Quaale. Ed talked about living on a dairy farm. He had chores like helping his mom garden and milk the cows. He also talked about going to school. They had buses but they were made out of wood instead of metal. He was lucky that he didn't have to ride wagons to school! He told us how he used to blow up stumps: you need a cap (that makes it explode), and a fuse. He bit the fuse (you were not supposed to do this) to light it, then put the cap on the fuse and when it hits the ground it sinks and then explodes! He told us all about his life. I hope you get to meet him sometime.
