Computer Buddies
Hi. I am going to tell you about the computer buddies in Room 125. Computer buddies help you with learning things on computers. Ms. Turchin usually pairs an experienced 3rd grader with a new 2nd grader. I have learned a lot about computers from my computer buddy, Ethan. He is really nice. There are other good pairs of third-graders and second- graders. For example, there is Isabel and Alyssa, Lilly and Jared, and, even though Liv is a third-grader and she’s new, she is still paired with Allyson so she can learn the things that third-graders from last year know.

Library Fun
I love Library! It is always so fun! Recently it was Dr. Seuss’s birthday, and our librarian let us wear all of our Dr. Seuss stuff. She also dressed up like Thing 1 or Thing 2, I forget. We also have Library Helpers in our class, which are Me, Aubrey, Crosby, Ashlyn,Allyson, and Ethan. We help scan books, and sort them, and we also get to go to parties! We sort books; we help Ms. Irion a great deal, and much more. Hope you love library as much as I do!

ATRT (All The Right Type)
ATRT (All The Right Type) is a computer program used to develop typing skills. At the beginning, you learn to type the home row (in the middle of the keyboard)and at the end you learn how to type the numbers. It’s important to be able to type quickly for all sorts of things like email, texting and bigger projects like reports. The "hunt and peck" method (that’s when you do one letter at a time with just the index fingers) is way too slow. ATRT is a pretty fun program. I think the level “Capitals and Periods” is harder than the rest. ATRT scores you by WPM (words per minute). I am working at about 30 words per minute. By: Andy C.
All About Writing
Have you ever written a story? I have. It’s called “Zombies.”
First, you need a title with capitals as needed. Next, you need a good beginning, the one I used for this blog was “Start with a question.” Then, you need a body with capitals, commas, and periods. Then you need a good ending, like “End with a question.” After that, put the date and your name. Next, you can format. Then, you can publish your story and then pat yourself on the back for a job-well-done!

Math
In orange group we are measuring capacity, weight, volume, and time. In the green group they are understanding and developing Spatial Reasoning. P.O.D is usually math, so that is why I am talking about it. Do you like math as much as I do? Blogged By Andrew W.
Friends In Room 125
There are a lot of friends in room 125. I’m not trying to brag, but everyone is making new friends every day! Some of us are in the Carnation Idol, and me and the other kids in the Carnation Idol have made a lot of friends from other classes as well. One of the friends I made last night during practice I met a girl named Rohana. She’s really nice. There are also a lot of close friends like Georgia and Paige, Alyssa and Jared, Me, Autumn, Maya, and Isabel, as well as Nicholas, Andy, Maclean, Andrew, and Josh. I hope someday YOU can be my friend.

Star Student
In our class we have a star student every week! Each week one of the students in our class brings in pictures of them, their house, favorite food, family, favorite sport, their pet, their favorite book, and favorite school subject to share with the class. At a recess they stay in to put up their pictures of them. When they are a star student they get to be at the front of the line all the time. So everyone in our class cannot wait to be star student! I hope that you learned about more about what it is like to be star student in our class!

Khan Academy
Khanacademy is a website for learning math.
Hit practice an you will be taken to a map. You need an account to save progress.
When you see the attain mastery button click it. That’s is review.
A skill is a lesson where you practice your math skills. To check the answer, hit the check answer button. If you get it right, a smiley face will pop up... and you won’t like it when you get it wrong.
The videos are important. If it is something hard like calculus, look under the hint button and you will see a "stuck watch a video" button. Click it and you will see the video pop up. It’s a YouTube video so if you are at school it might be blocked.Click the play button, and it will start playing. You could also hit the watch button to see all the videos. See the blue box with the numbers, that’s energy points. If you get enough energy points you can chose more pictures for your avatar. And badges are rewards for completing certain stuff. Need more help ask me at school.

New Friends
Don’t you like having new friends? Well I do. I have made lots of new friends this year. Friends can help you anywhere, anytime. You can play with them at recess (and talk). You can trade Pokemon and Trading Cards with them. They will sit with you on the bus, any bus you take: Purple, Orange, Green, and Blue. Do you have good friends?

Our play… the clowns
We are doing a play. We are doing it with some other classes. It is called ‘Clowns’. I recently got a part. I am Pretty Polly! As well as having a speaking part, I have a solo where I get to sing a song. It is about the millions of colors that are around us. It is on March 28th, and all of our parents get to come and watch! It has been so fun practicing our songs and auditioning for the parts. I practically nailed it the second time I tried, but the first time I hadn’t practiced at all, and I was all shaky and nervous. I even started playing with my scarf! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the play!
