End of the Year auction

Today, the last day of school, we had our end of the year auction. Everyone had a lot of money. We get our money in ledgers from being good and getting 100% on math. Then every friday we have an auction. There is usually three items including a chocolae bar from Joyce. Then at the end of the year we have a big one. We just had it today. I had a lot of fun! Some people saved their money up all year and had over $2000! There were a lot of things. I wish I could do it again. Well, I had a lot of fun. What did you do?

OTTER POPS!

What does otter pops have to do with school? I'll tell you. In our class we have a deal. If we are good we get an otter pop! It is fun having otter pops every day! Sometimes we get otter pops plus:) . One day we didn't have otter pops at all:( instead we had Kool Aid pops:)
We have one more day to go...That means one more otter pop...I hope.

Cleaning Desks

Have you ever cleaned your desk and chair with shaving cream? Well our class did for the end of the year so our desks can be clean for the end of the year. What we did was sprayed some shaving cream on our desk and we would spread the cream on our desk with our hands so it would get all over. Then we could play tic-tac-toe with the foam and draw pictures. Finally we would wipe the cream down with an old rag so there is no more foam. When it was done it was sparkly clean!

PAT CLASS PICNIC

Today we had our PAT class picnic. We had a lot of fun at the park. Our class walked over to McDonald park. When we got there we signed shirts. Than we played relay races and ate ice cream, also we had face painting. In the middle of it we ate lunch. At the very end we posed for a class picture. At the very, very end we threw water balloons and had a water balloon war.
So that was the PAT class picnic. We had lots and lots of fun! My favorite thing was the water balloon war. If you were at the picnic what was your favorite thing?

2006 Science Fair

Have you ever been in a Science Fair? On May, 18 my whole class was in a Science Fair. I think that my whole class enjoyed being in a Science Fair. Some of the projects that my class did were, Bryan did a dog treat project, Caitlin did a bacteria project, and I (Piper) did a project on cleaners to see which one worked better the homemade cleaner or the commercial cleaner.

I think that Science Fair's are really awesome. I hope that everybody else thought that the Science Fair was awesome. Some of my favorite Science Fair projects were: Susanna's, she did a natural dyeing project, Wesley's was how a canyon was made, but probably my favorite one was Bryan's the dog treat project.

Science Fair's are cool and I hope you get to do a Science Fair sometime! You can find some really cool Science Fair project's! If you get to do a Science Fair, I hope you think that they are fun!!!

UW Engineering Fair

Have you ever built an electric circuit? I have, when we went to the U.W. Engineering fair. It is the first time I have ever been to the U.W. electric circuits are boards that you attach pieces to make a fan go flying or anything else that might need electricity. I built a electric circuit that launched a fan in the air and an electric circuit that made a light glow. We also went to see a robot fish, a Lego robot an earthquake room that shaked,( we got to go on it.) and we got to race. The robot fish was remote controlled and it could lift its nose a couple inches out of the water. On the computer we got to make a Lego robot Move by our command. In the earthquake room there was a little platform that would shake when a worker at the U.W. pressed a button. Also at the earthquake room we got to go on the platform that would shake, and the grownups didn't. We tried to right our names on a piece of paper. It was a wonderful day I hope I can go there again.

I survived day 2 of the WASL

The WASL has been going SUPER so far. It has been fun. Having snacks was great. This is good news for the 3rd graders. In the picture ( shown left ) the gold thing is a medal that says
"I SURVIVED DAY 2 OF WASL TESTING".

Map Skills GALORE

Yesterday, Morgan's dad, came in to do some map activities. There were maps about the London underground, Alaska ecosystems, Seattle geology, Phoenix, USGS map and a World Atlas. There was some stations and questions. One person in a group would write the answers for the group. In our group Corey was our writer. Everybody worked in a group. There was about 5 or 6 stations and after that my group got 16 dollars in our personal ledgers! I was so surprised when I got 16 dollars in my ledger! My favorite thing I learned was about a London subway map.

SUPER BOWL HERE WE COME....

Did You Hear The Seahawks Are Going To The Super Bowl?

They are going to play against the Steelers and beat them up!
I can't wait to see them win again. This is their first time going to the Super Bowl. My class is all excited about the Seahawks going to the Super Bowl. So am I!
The Steelers are are going to the Super Bowl also, because they beat the Broncos. But, I wish the Broncos beat the Steelers . Nobody in my class likes the Broncos except me. But, before the Steelers played the Broncos, they played the Colts. That's my favorite team, but if they beat the Steelers, they would have played the Broncos in the place the Steelers played in.
Everybody in my class and I think the Seahawks are going to win the Super Bowl!

Football Fever

Seahawks are right now in the NFC championship. They are going to play the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks beat the Redskins 20-10. The Carolina Panthers beat the Chicago Bears 29 to 21. If Seahawks win, they will play in the Super Bowl against either the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Denver Broncos. Go Seahawks....

Blast Off To Pluto

Yesterday, we learned about Pluto in Time for Kids. We learned that a new spaceship, an unmanned probe, called New Horizon will go to Pluto. It will take 10 years almost to reach there. We were really interested about the New Horizon.
Our class made a song about Pluto for the music program on Valentine's Day. Our class made a really funny part in the song, we also gave some true facts about Pluto.
A few of the true facts are that, it's the farthest planet from the sun, it's unlike any other plant in the world, it is made of chunks of ice, just last year, in 2005 scientists spotted an object even bigger then Pluto, scientists are questioning if Pluto is a planet or not. Do you think Pluto is a planet or not?
