Butterflies are Free

Yesterday we released our butterflies. Only one of them flew out the window on its own. Ms. Turchin needed to push it out but when she pushed it the butterfly flew back inside! But Ms Turchin finally got the butterfly to fly outside. Those were the only butterflies to fly outside the others wouldn't fly out the window. We released the butterflies because they were pretty old because the Painted Lady butterflies only lives about 2-3 weeks before they lay eggs and die. I learned a lot about butterflies. Did you?

Life Cycle of Butterflies

Today a few of our butterflies started flying. There Is a lot more meconium then last week. I predict that there will be eggs by next week. Now all the butterflies are hatched. When I got In this morning I saw breytons butterfly flying all over the box. Also this morning Zoe took out all the crumpled up dead butterflys. The life cycle of the butterfly is: egg, larva, bigger larva,
