Today we had a visitor (Amelia's dad returned)in our class to teach our class more about rocks and minerals. I learned that magnetite is a rare mineral. I also learned that if graphite was pressed really tight it would form a diamond. Usually, when plants from the swamp die they go underground to make oil. Then, if the plant goes really,really deep into the earth, with lots of heat and pressure, it would make a diamond. His visit was awesome...with lots of maps, rocks and minerals to share.
